7th August 2021, is a day when history was created for India and Indian sports when Subedar Neeraj Chopra, won the gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics. The journey for this great feat started many years back in 2015 when a young 13 or 14-year young boy was spotted by Brig Adesh Yadav, the commandant of Rajputana Rifles Centre, Delhi.

The young boy had defeated many seasoned seniors in a javline throw competition by throwing the spear to a distance of more than 35 meters. He immediately approached the parents and recruited the talented young boy into the boy’s sports company. The journey began and soon through specialized training at the Army’s Sports Institute, which had the best of the best World-class sports facilities including coaches, Neeraj became a star. His achievements speak for themselves as under:
